International Seminar on Chemical Engineering Soehadi Reksowardojo (STKSR) 2020

International Seminar on Chemical Engineering Soehadi Reksowardojo (STKSR) is an annual seminar held by the Department of Chemical Engineering ITB in honor of Prof. Soehadi Reksowardojo’s contribution to the early developments of chemical engineering higher education in Indonesia. This year STKSR 2020 will be held in conjunction with Symposium on Photocatalyst and Photocatalysis ( Symphosis ) 2020 by virtual conference, starting from November 16th to November 17th, 2020. Bringing forward the theme “Circular Economy for a Better World”, we would like to invite scholars and practitioners from all around the world to contribute to these seminars.

Presentasi Lomba Perancangan Carrier Box Es Krim Seru

Pada hari Selasa, 25 Februari 2020 di Ruang Galeri, PT Unilever – FTI ITB bekerjasama mengadakan lomba bernama “Perancangan Carrier Box Es Krim Seru”. Kegiatan ini berjalan sukses dengan jumlah peserta 3 Kelompok.

Masing masing kelompok mempresentasikan karya mereka berupa kotak es yang dapat dipergunakan untuk penyimpanan sementara Es Krim pada saat pembelian sebelum akhirnya disimpan di tempat penyimpanan khusus di rumah.

Kelompok pertama mempresentasikan ‘Yas Box’, yang berbahan dasar dari Polyurethane Foam sebagai bahan insulasi.

Kelompok kedua mempresentasikan ‘Box Delivery’, yang berbahan dasar dari serabut kelapa sebagai bahan insulasi.

Kelompok ketiga mempresentasikan ‘Box Delivery’ , yang berbahan dasar dari Fiber Glass sebagai bahan insulasi.

On Tuesday, February 25, 2020 in the Gallery Room, PT Unilever – FTI ITB collaborated to hold a competition called “Exciting Ice Cream Carrier Box Design”. This activity was successful with the number of participants in 3 groups.

Each group presents their work in the form of ice boxes that can be used for temporary storage of Ice Cream at the time of purchase before finally being stored in a special storage area at home.

The first group presented ‘Yas Box’, which is made from Polyurethane Foam as insulation material.

The second group presented ‘Box Delivery’, which is made from coconut fibers as insulation material.

The third group presented ‘Box Delivery’, which is made from Fiber Glass as insulation material.

Program Studi Teknik Pangan FTI Tampilkan Hasil Karya Penelitian dalam Acara “FoodEx 2019”

Program Studi Teknologi Pangan Fakultas Teknik Industri kembali menggelar Pameran Produksi Makanan dengan Tema “Foodex 2019”.  Pelaksana kegiatan ini adalah Para Mahasiswa Program Studi Teknik Pangan Angkatan 2016.  Foodex 2019 bertempat di Laboratorium Kayu ITB Kampus Jatinangor pada Hari Senin 25 November 2019.

Dr. Made Tri Ari Penia Kresnowati menyampaikan sambutannya sebagai panitia Foodex 2019. Sebelumnya beliau bercerita tentang keadaan laboratorium kayu yang semula untuk penelitian kayu  prodi kehutanan. Seiringnya waktu sedikit demi sedikit dirubah fungsinya menjadi laboratorium Prodi Teknik Pangan.

Di samping itu Dr. Made Tri Ari Penia Kresnowati menyampaikan hasil penelitiannya yang mengubah singkong menjadi tepung singkong. Tepung singkong ini bisa menggantikan tepung terigu, yang bisa dimanfaatkan untuk aneka gorengan, aneka kue, makanan seperti Pizza dll. Produk semua olahan yang berasal dari tepung terigu dapat digantikan dengan tepung singkong.

Tepung singkong tersebut telah dibuktikan oleh para mahasiswa yang mengolah menjadi makanan. Hasilnya sangat enak. Tidak terasa lagi bahan yang dimasak yang berasal singkong dan hasilnya tidak terasa lagi rasa/bau singkongnya.

Foodex 2019 dibuka oleh Ketua Program Studi yaitu Ir. Ronny Purwadi, M.T., Ph.D. dalam sambutanya disampaikan pameran ini diselenggarakan kali kedua. Kali pertama diselenggrakan pada tahun 2018 untuk mahasiswa Teknik Pangan angkatan 2015 dan kali kedua diselenggatakan pada tahun 2019 untuk mahasiswa angkatan 2016. Pameran makanan ini diselenggarakan oleh mahasiswa sebelum mahasiswa di wisuda. Mahasiswa teknik pangan sebagian besar lulus tepat waktu. Teknik Pangan mendidik mahasiswa untuk mencari bahan baku dan memproduksinya secara massal.

Foodex 2019 dihadiri oleh para kasie di lingkungan ITB Kampus Jatinangor, para mahasiswa dan segenap civitas akademika. Foodex 2019 diisi dengan olahan makanan hasil karya mahasiswa. Para tamu undangan dipersilakan mencicipi makanan hasil karya mahasiswa. Kurang lebih ada 18 stand di dalam acara Foodex 2019. Foodex 2019 menyelenggarakan juga demo pembuatan Pizza dan demo pembuatan Cookies. Bahan utama pembuatan olahan makanan didapat dari hasil karya mahasiswa yang berasal dari tepung singkong yang telah difermentasi.

Menu olahan yang telah dibuat adalah Shinigiri, Gulatin Free Marsmellow, 3Eats, GlufPiz,3Jo Pough, Natrual Flour, Ferkuy dll. Acara cukup meriah.

Department of Food Engineering once again holds a Food Production Exhibition with the theme “Foodex 2019”. The organizer of this activity is Department of Food Engineering Students Force 2016. Foodex 2019 took place at the ITB Wood Laboratory Jatinangor Campus on Monday, November 25, 2019.

Dr. Made Tri Ari Penia Kresnowati delivered her remarks as the 2019 Foodex committee. Previously she talked about the state of the wood laboratory which was originally for the study of forestry programs. Over time, little by little the function has been changed to become a Laboratory of Food Engineering.

Besides that Dr. Made Tri Ari Penia Kresnowati conveyed the results of her research that turned cassava into cassava flour. This cassava flour can replace wheat flour, which can be used for various fried foods, various cakes, foods such as pizza, etc. All processed products derived from wheat flour can be replaced with cassava flour.

Cassava flour has been proven by students who process it into food. The results are very good. Cassava is no longer cooked ingredients and the results do not feel the taste / smell of cassava anymore.

Foodex 2019 was opened by the Head of the Department namely Ir. Ronny Purwadi, M.T., Ph.D. in his speech the exhibition was held the second time. The first time was held in 2018 for Food Engineering students class of 2015 and the second time was held in 2019 for students of class 2016. This food exhibition was held by students before students graduation. Most food engineering students graduate on time. Food Engineering educates students to look for raw materials and produce them en masse.

Foodex 2019 was attended by the heads of staff in the ITB Jatinangor campus, students and the entire academic community. Foodex 2019 is filled with processed food created by students. Invited guests are welcome to sample food created by students. There are approximately 18 booths at the Foodex 2019 event. Foodex 2019 also held a Pizza making demo and Cookies demo. The main ingredients for making food preparations are obtained from the work of students who come from fermented cassava flour.

Processed menus that have been made are Shinigiri, Gulatin Free Marsmellow, 3Eats, GlufPiz, 3Jo Pough, Natrual Flour, Ferkuy etc. The event was quite lively.

FTI Motivation Day 2019

Pada hari Sabtu 23 November 2019, FTI menyelenggarakan FTI Motivation Day 2019 untuk mahasiswa baru FTI Jatinangor. Pada acara ini, diundang dua presenter muda yang menekuni bidang Pangan dan Biobased Material yaitu Bapak Edmon Chairul (TK 93) dan Bapak Antonius Ferry (TK 97). Acara dilaksanakan di Gedung Labtek X, ruang X316. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk memberikan gambaran terkait bidang keilmuan dan pekerjaan dari Teknik Pangan dan Teknik Bioenergi Kemurgi.

On Saturday 23 November 2019, FTI held FTI Motivation Day 2019 for new students of FTI Jatinangor. ITB-UKAW Gelar Seminar Internasional

Program Studi Teknik Kimia dan Fakultas Teknologi Industri, Institut Teknologi Bandung bekerja sama dengan Fakultas Teknologi Pertanian Universitas Kristen Artha Wacana Kupang siap menyelenggarakan kegiatan International Seminar on Chemical Enginerring Soehadi Reksowardojo (STKSR) 2019.

Seminar yang mengangkat tema utama ‘Bioenergi dan Produk-Produk Kimia Berbasis Bio untuk Kemandirian dan Kedaulatan Bangsa’ itu akan digelar pada 7-8 Oktober di Swiss Bellin Kristal Hotel, Kupang.

Menariknya, dalam seminar itu, ada 122 paper yang akan dipresentasikan oleh para kontributor artikel dari enam negara, seperti New Zealand, Australia, Jepang, Malaysia, dan Indonesia. Beberapa kontributor berasal dari NTT yang akan mempresentasikan temuan serta kajian ilmiah yang mereka lakukan dan peroleh selama melakukan penelitian.

Hal ini disampaikan oleh Ketua Panitia Seminar Dr Antonius Indarto kepada awak media, Sabtu (5/10) di Swiss Bellinn Kristal Hotel Kupang.

Menurutnya, sejak tahun 1991 seminar secara berulang digelar di kampus ITB dan pada tahun 2019 ini, secara perdana seminar ini digelar di luar ITB dan NTTlah yang mendapatkan kesempatan perdana. “Seminar Teknik Kimia Soehadi Reksowardojo (STKSR) untuk pertama kalinya diselenggarakan pada tahun 1991 di kampus ITB Bandung dan dilakukan secara berulang setiap tahunnya untuk pertama kali Seminar STKSR ini dilakukan di luar ITB yaitu di tahun 2019 ini dan NTT mendapatkan kesempatan perdana tersebut,” jelasnya.

Tujuan kegiatan ini untuk menciptakan forum atau wadah diskusi dan sering bahan bakar, produk-produk kimia dan listrik dengan sumber daya alam terbarukan. Selain itu juga untuk mendapatkan berbagai informasi, rumusan isu dan gagasan-gagasan teknis dan teknologi dari para peneliti, akademisi, pengusaha dan pemerintah terkait pengembangan teknologi bioenergi, produksi bahan-bahan kimia berbasis bio termasuk pangan dan listrik dari sumber daya alam terbarukan.

Program studi teknik kimia dalam beberapa tahun terakhir telah fokus melakukan berbagai kajian penelitian di bidang pengembangan teknologi, proses dan produksi untuk transportasi, dan pemanfaatan aneka sumber energi alternatif untuk listrik. Sejumlah hasil kajian itu telah dipublikasikan, salah satunya melalui wadah tahunan, yakni International Seminar on Chemical Engineering Soehadi Reksowardojo (STKSR).

Ia menambahkan untuk menemukan gagasan-gagasan yang komprehensif dan rumusan pengembangan teknologi proses produksi bahan bakar dan listrik dengan sumber daya alam terbarukan diperlukan adanya sinergitas antara pemangku kepentingan baik masyarakat, akademisi, pengusaha maupun pemerintah.

“Oleh karena itu sinergitas tersebut diwujudkan melalui sebuah konferensi seperti STKSR 2019, sebagai wadah untuk memfasilitasi kepentingan masa depan Indonesia dan pengembangan teknologi bioenergi dan produksi bahan kimia berbasis bio serta kelistrikan dengan sumber daya alam terbarukan. Target capaian seminar ini yaitu penguatan visi terkait dengan pengembangan teknologi bioenergi, produksi bahan bahan kimia berbasis nabati dan listrik tak terbarukan,” tambahnya menjelaskan.

Ia berharap melalui seminar ini, mereka bisa mengumpulkan semua ilmuwan, akademisi, maupun Pemerintah NTT, agar bersama-sama merembuk dan berdiskusi tentang bagaimana menyamakan dan mempertajam visi dan misi, sehingga nantinya bisa bersama-sama mencapai satu tujuan untuk pengembangan bioenergi ini khususnya di NTT.

“Saya mengapresiasi sekali pengembangan yang di lakukan oleh Provinsi NTT yaitu produknya kelor yang sudah dikembangkan di sini, dan ini sebagai salah satu bentuk kita mandiri dan tidak tergantung pada import, semoga seminar ini bisa membuat kita berjalan pada arah yang sama sehingga efeknya itu akan terasa,” paparnya.

Rektor Universitas Kristen Artha Wacana Kupang Ayub UI Meko juga mengapresiasi seminar bertaraf Internasional itu. Dikatakannya bahwa dari sekian banyak Universitas di NTT, ITB memilih bekerja sama dengan UKAW dalam penyelenggaraan seminar ini.

“Saya sangat berterima kasih kepada ITB karena sudah memilih Universitas Artha Wacana Kupang, seminar ini akan memberikan nuansa lain dan motivasi baik itu kepada peserta maupun simpatisan, ungkapnya.

Menurutnya, Indonesia Timur memiliki banyak sekali jenis tanaman yang menghasilkan biji yang di dalamnya terdapat lemak dan jenis tanaman ini bisa di manfaatkan untuk kepentingan menghasilkan bioenergi. Oleh karena itu, seminar ini sebagai jejak awal yang di gagas oleh Fakultas Teknologi Pertanian Institut Teknologi Bandung untuk kedepannya bisa bekerja bersama-sama untuk menghasilkan bioenergi dari tanaman-tanaman yang ada di NTT. The Chemical Engineering Department and the Faculty of Industrial Technology, Institut Teknologi Bandung in collaboration with the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Artha Wacana Christian University, Kupang are ready to organize the International Seminar on Chemical Engineeringiner Soehadi Reksowardojo (STKSR) 2019.

The seminar with the main theme ‘Bioenergy and Bio-Based Chemical Products for National Independence and Sovereignty’ will be held on 7-8 October at the Swiss Bellin Kristal Hotel, Kupang.

Interestingly, in the seminar, there were 122 papers that would be presented by article contributors from six countries, such as New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Some of the contributors are from NTT who will present their findings and scientific studies that they conducted and obtained during the research.

This was conveyed by the Chair of the Seminar Committee Dr. Antonius Indarto to the media crew, Saturday (5/10) at the Swiss Bellinn Kristal Hotel Kupang.

According to him, since 1991 the seminar has been repeatedly held at the ITB campus and in 2019, the first seminar was held outside of ITB and NTT which had the first chance. “Soehadi Reksowardojo’s Chemical Engineering Seminar (STKSR) was held for the first time in 1991 on the Bandung ITB campus and was held repeatedly every year for the first time this STKSR Seminar was held outside ITB, in 2019 and NTT had the first opportunity,” he explained. .

The purpose of this activity is to create a forum or forum for discussion and often fuel, chemical products and electricity with renewable natural resources. In addition, to get various information, formulation of issues and technical and technological ideas from researchers, academics, entrepreneurs and government related to the development of bioenergy technology, production of bio-based chemicals including food and electricity from renewable natural resources.

The chemical engineering study program in recent years has focused on conducting various research studies in the field of technology development, processes and production for transportation, and the use of various alternative energy sources for electricity. A number of studies have been published, one of them through an annual forum, namely the International Seminar on Chemical Engineering Soehadi Reksowardojo (STKSR).

He added that to find comprehensive ideas and formulation of technological development of fuel and electricity production processes with renewable natural resources, there needed to be synergy between stakeholders, both the community, academics, business people and the government.

“Therefore the synergy is manifested through a conference such as STKSR 2019, as a forum to facilitate Indonesia’s future interests and the development of bioenergy technology and the production of bio-based chemicals and electricity with renewable natural resources. The target of this seminar is to strengthen the vision related to the development of bioenergy technology, the production of vegetable-based chemicals and non-renewable electricity, “he explained.

He hoped that through this seminar, they could gather all scientists, academics, and the NTT Government, so that together they could discuss and discuss how to equalize and sharpen their vision and mission, so that later they could jointly achieve one goal for the development of this bioenergy, especially in NTT .

“I really appreciate the development carried out by the Province of NTT, which is Moringa products that have been developed here, and this is one of our independent forms and does not depend on imports, hopefully this seminar can make us walk in the same direction so that the effect will be felt , “He explained.

The Chancellor of Artha Wacana Christian University Kupang Job UI Meko also appreciated the international seminar. He said that of the many universities in NTT, ITB chose to collaborate with UKAW in organizing this seminar.

“I am very grateful to ITB for choosing Artha Wacana University Kupang, this seminar will give other nuances and motivations to both participants and sympathizers,” he said.

According to him, Eastern Indonesia has many types of plants that produce seeds in which there is fat and these types of plants can be utilized for the benefit of producing bioenergy. Therefore, this seminar is an initial trail initiated by the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Bandung Institute of Technology, in the future it can work together to produce bioenergy from plants in NTT. Orasi Ilmiah Guru Besar Fakultas Teknologi Industri ITB Prof. Danu Ariono

Bandung, Sabtu, 21 September 2019, bertempat di Aula Barat ITB, Jln. Ganesa No. 10, mulai pukul 09:00 – 11:00 WIB, Forum Guru Besar Institut Teknologi Bandung menyelenggarakan acara Orasi Ilmiah Guru Besar ITB.

Pada kesempatan ini, Profesor Danu Ariono dari Program Studi Teknik Kimia FTI ITB, diberikan kesempatan untuk menyampaikan orasi Ilmiahnya dengan judul: Perkembangan Teknologi Pemisahan Difungsional”.

Orasi ilmiah ini merupakan pertanggungjawaban akademik dan komitmen atas jabatan sebagai Guru Besar. (buku materi Orasi Ilmiah bisa dilihat di sini).

Dikutip dari Buku Orasi Ilmiah Profesor Danu Ariono yang disampaikan dalam pendahuluannya, Proses pemisahan merupakan suatu kegiatan memisahkan satu atau beberapa komponen yang ada dalam campuran. Proses pemisahan, diyakini telah dikenal oleh manusia ratusan tahun sebelum masehi. Proses kristalisasi, distilasi, adsorpsi, absorpsi, dan ekstraksi. Dalam proses pemisahan, kristalisasi merupakan unit operasi tertua dalam portofolio teknik pemisahan. Hal ini dapat dimengerti karena prinsip dasar proses ini sangat sederhana yaitu hanya pemanasan atau evaporasi larutan hingga terjadi kristalisasi, selain itu juga dapat melalui proses pendinginan larutan.

Acara tersebut dihadiri oleh pimpinan dan anggota Forum Guru Besar ITB, staf pengajar FTI khususnya dari Program Studi Teknik Kimia, mahasiswa, para undangan lainnya dan keluarga.

Acara ditutup dengan kegiatan penyampaian ucapan selamat, foto bersama dan ramah tamah.

On this occasion, Professor Danu Ariono from the FTI ITB Chemical Engineering Study Program, was given the opportunity to deliver his Scientific speech with the title: “Development of Functional Separation Technology”.

Quoted from Professor Danu Ariono’s Scientific Oration Book delivered in his introduction, the process of separation is an activity of separating one or several components that are in the mixture. The process of separation, is believed to have been known by humans hundreds of years BC. The process of crystallization, distillation, adsorption, absorption, and extraction. In the process of separation, crystallization is the oldest operating unit in the portfolio of separation techniques. This is understandable because the basic principle of this process is very simple, namely only heating or evaporation of the solution until crystallization occurs, but it can also go through the process of cooling the solution.

The event was attended by leaders and members of the ITB Professors Forum, FTI teaching staff especially from the Chemical Engineering Department, students, other invitees and families.
