Each year, Food Engineering Department of ITB accepts 60 prospective students through 3 admission programs, namely:
- Seleksi Nasional Berdasarkan Prestasi (SNBP),
- Seleksi Nasional Berdasarkan Tes (SNBT), dan
- Seleksi Mandiri ITB.
Prospective students who are interested in joining the ITB Food Engineering Department can register to the faculty where Food Engineering is located, namely Faculty of Industrial Technology (FTI) Jatinangor Campus This is because ITB applies the “Joint Preparation Stage” (TPB) system for first year students. In this system, first year students are still members of the faculty and will be placed in a study program in the second year, except for prospective students who choose the Specialization Program. The admission into departments are made according to the students’ choice and availability of seats in each study program. At FTI Jatinangor Campus, there are 2 choices of study programs, namely Food Engineering and Bioenergy Engineering and Chemurgy, Chemical Engineering, and Physical Engineering.
Starting in 2024, Food Engineering also opens admissions through the International Track. Students accepted through this track will study at ITB in the same class as regular classes, but will have the opportunity to pursue internationalization through a student exchange for at least 1 semester. Currently, ITB Food Engineering has a student exchange collaboration with Chulalongkorn University and Mahidol University in Thailand.
